Agrifood, entirely owned by the Groupe Forrest International, produces corn flour, a basic food in Katanga.

AGRIFOOD is a food processing company of which GROUPE FORREST INTERNATIONAL S.A. (GFI S.A.) holds 100% of the shares since 1991.

Based at Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, AGRIFOOD possesses a flour mill and produces 220 tonnes of flour per month. The company also has a second mill at Kolwezi. This one has a production capacity of 110 tonnes of corn flour per month.

Corn flour is a staple food in the Province of Katanga. Traditionally in the Katanga industry, companies give their employees a sack of flour as a salary bonus. Thanks to the flour production of AGRIFOOD, GFI S.A. continues this age-old tradition, inherited from the UNION MINIÈRE DU HAUT KATANGA (UMHK) and GÉCAMINES.

Today, the workers of the companies in which GFI S.A. is a shareholder receive two sacks of corn flour per month, which is almost 100 kilos. The raw material used by AGRIFOOD, notably corn, is acquired on the local market.
